File Browser

The File Browser screen displays various logs from the system such as core dumps, debug log files, and so on, to diagnose any system issue. Use the screen to review and/or download the data. 

Debug logs

The Debug Logs records database operations, system processes, and errors that occur during operation. It is a valuable tool for any system administrator.  

  1. Click on the Live Monitor tab > Diagnostics > File Browser on the ScaleArc dashboard. The Logs screen appears.

     

You can perform the various actions below from this screen.  

Download debug files

Whenever ScaleArc crashes, it collects the required files and creates a tar file that can you can use for analysis. Access this file in Debug logs. In the event of a crash:

  1. Click Upload to upload the file on to the sftp server.
  2. Click Delete to remove the file from ScaleArc.
  3. Click Download to save the file to your local machine. This file provides the details on the crash.
  4. Click Info to view a stack trace of the selected crash file. 

ScaleArc generates daily logs of all activities. You can perform the various actions below for a particular day's logs:

Upload a day's logs

  1. Select a date from the drop down menu.
  2. Click Upload to upload the logs to the sftp server.

Download a day's log

  1. Select a day from the drop down menu.
  2. Click Download to download the logs to your local machine.

File Browser 

The file browser lets you browse and download files from the following four directories:

  • Cache 
  • Currentlogs
  • Logs
  • Var

You can perform these actions for a particular file:

Upload a file

  1. Select a file from the directory.
  2. Click Upload to FTP server. 

Download a file

  1. Select a file from the directory. 
  2. Click Download to download the logs to your local machine.

Tip

To move multiple files, press CTRL and select the required files. Then, click the Upload or Download button.
