This section describes the procedures for adding one or more database servers to a cluster.

Keep in mind, one of the benefits of ScaleArc is its ability to load balance across multiple databases. Database servers can be modified later as well. If adding more than one server, you must ensure these servers are already configured as a singular cluster. Configure the cluster outbound LAN connection IP address to connect to the database servers.

Additionally, if you are planning to use windows authentication, configure Network LAN manager authentication level to 'Use NTLMv2 response only' on each database server.

Server configuration options

ScaleArc offers you the following options to configure your database server. Make a choice based on your replication technology:

  While ScaleArc recommends you create a cluster with Always On enabled, your environment setup dictates if you need to turn on this functionality.
